Our Mission

The Community Caring Closet is a non-profit ministry whose mission in Saginaw County is to collect and distribute slightly used clothing, blankets, towels and household items to those in need in our community, along with an on-going food pantry, community garden, and lunch program. Making a spiritual connection by sharing the love of Christ is a primary goal of our mission.

Give a Little Help a Lot

Our vision is based on 1 John 3:17: ”If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”
Donations are always welcome and are tax-deductible. Give financially by clicking "Donate Now" or mailing a check to "The Caring Closet," 6045 Mackinaw, Saginaw, MI 48604. New or gently used clothing and household item donations can be left anytime by our donation drop-off sign, under the roof of the tan pole barn.
FREE Ongoing Food Pantry

Food Pantry

At the Caring Closet, we believe everyone deserves a nourishing meal, no matter what life throws their way. We’re your community’s safety net, providing healthy groceries, friendship, and Godly support to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Whether it’s temporary hardship or ongoing challenges, we bridge the gap between empty shelves and full plates, building smiles and brighter futures along the way.

FREE Clothing and Household Items

Clothing Barn

At the Caring Closet, we collect and distribute clothing and household items at no charge to those in need. We welcome quality donations and it’s a great way to keep your clothing out of landfills while also providing a valuable resource to the less fortunate!

Learning Garden

Ways to help:

  1. Help us plant the garden—2 planting days in May.

  2. Take care of a raised bed of vegetables throughout the summer by weeding and watering plants.

  3. Pick vegetables when they’re ready—maybe on the Fridays each month before the Saturday that the Caring Closet is open.

  4. Pray that God will honor our efforts.
